Take care of yourself and each other this Mental Health Awareness Week

11 May 26

Mental Health Awareness Week arrives as GCSE exams begin for many of our students making this an important opportunity to focus on wellbeing support and looking after ourselves during a busy time of year.

At Longdendale High School we understand that exams can bring pressure nerves and uncertainty for students and families. While revision and preparation are important we also want students to remember that their wellbeing matters too.

There are lots of small practical steps that can help students manage stress during exam season including:

Taking regular breaks from revision
Getting outside for fresh air and exercise
Keeping a healthy sleep routine
Staying hydrated and eating regularly
Taking time away from screens
Talking things through with trusted people when worries build up

Students can access support from Form Tutors Heads of Year pastoral teams safeguarding staff wellbeing services and trusted adults across school whenever they need it. Families are also encouraged to contact school if they have concerns or need additional support during the exam period.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that nobody should struggle alone and that being kind to ourselves and each other can make a real difference during challenging times.
