The trust seeks a trustee with strong audit, finance and risk experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in a charity or non-profit organisation, as well as demonstrating experience from a commercial, retail or industry setting, including evidence of contribution to growing a business, chain of businesses or franchises, as well as experience of head office and organisational development, including driving efficiency improvements in central services.

Education and School Improvement
The trust seeks a trustee who possesses skills and experience from across the educational landscape, with a specific requirement for school leadership. Experience of working in a role with responsibility for school improvement is welcomed.

Business, Governance and Human Resources

The trust seeks individuals who possess a strong ‘general’ skillset from across the business sphere, with a specific requirement for growth management. Experience working in a role with responsibility for corporate governance, legal services or human resources would be valuable.

Commitment

Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role for people who have the energy and skills to make a real contribution to shaping the future of our schools. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge of education.

The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month during term time as a minimum. Board meetings are held at the Trust’s registered office at Ashton Sixth Form College (OL6 9RL), mainly in the evenings.

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Estates Assistant to join our Estates team at Ashton Sixth Form College, part of Stamford Park Trust. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day operation, security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the College site.

You will play a key part in ensuring that our buildings and grounds provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties will include routine maintenance, site security, porterage, supporting with cleaning cover when required, and assisting with events and examinations.


What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will:

Have a valid driving licence (essential).
Be flexible and able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends when required.
Be confident in dealing with a wide range of people, particularly young people aged 16–19.
Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Have good practical skills to support maintenance and site operations.
Be willing to undertake training (including First Aid).

You’ll work closely with the library team and academic staff to ensure the library and study centres remain a dynamic and inclusive space for learning.

Ashton Sixth Form College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate Teacher of Sport and Public Services to join an already strong and well-established team of dedicated, specialist teachers.

The Sport and Public Services department is a very busy and exciting department to work in as offers a wide range of vocational qualifications at level 3. The department has over 300 students and works with Pearson and NCFE as awarding bodies. Our main delivery is focussed on Extended Diplomas and Certificate qualifications. The Certificate qualifications (worth 1 A Level) support the vibrant mixed study programme within Ashton Sixth Form College.

The department runs the Pearson programmes for the Sport and Exercise Sciences provision and works within the 2016 and 2019 R.Q.F. framework for the full time sport and NCFE for the Uniformed Services/Certificate in Sport. In terms of staffing we have 4 full time teaching staff with 3 part-time teaching members of staff. We are also supported by 3 coaches from the City in the Community programme and by a full time sports coordinator.

 

The department prides itself on running the college wide sporting enrichment opportunities for students across the college. These opportunities are based around the competition element of sport as we have 5 football teams, 1 basketball team, 1 rugby team, 1 netball teams plus we enter regional and national competitions across numerous other team and individual sports. We also offer lunch and after college sessions for participation sport across differing sports such as badminton, table tennis and futsal. We also promote and run the Ashton Elite programme, which offers bespoke 1 to 1 support for all elite level athletes for those that represent their sport from regional to national/international level.

Within the curriculum offer and run an extensive enrichment and employability programme for all students. We work with on a regular basis all the uniformed public services and have established and fruitful working relationships with UCLAN, Manchester Metropolitan, Huddersfield and Bolton Universities. We also work with many local schools and sports clubs as a number of our students have long term coaching placements there.

To ensure the school environment is welcoming, clean and safe we are seeking to appoint a hardworking,
committed and enthusiastic candidate to join our cleaning team.
Working effectively, alongside other members of the team, you will be responsible for the general cleaning of
all areas of the school, including stairs, toilets and corridors.
Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. A willingness to be flexible in your approach,
acting in a professional manner, paying attention to detail, and having the ability to carry out all duties in line
with school expectations and health and safety guidelines are all qualities which are essential.
The post, which is 15 hours per week, is to be worked during term time as directed by the Site Manager to
ensure the needs of the school are met.

The dual working approach of providing outstanding sporting facilities for students alongside opening the venues up to our local communities to access high quality health, wellbeing and sport provision is our key goal.

This post is a multi-site role where you will be at the forefront of ensuring each of our venues is open to our community club bookings providing high standard of customer service, facility upkeep, facility supervision and become a key asset and input into our facility development plans on this exciting journey.

Ø You will take pride in ensuring the facility is clean, tidy and set up for each of our bookings and community users

 

Ø You will take a pro-active approach to facility supervision and customer liaison

 

Ø Be able to priorities & complete a range of maintenance and facility upkeep tasks from pitch maintenance tasks to sporting equipment day to day maintenance checks and basic repairs

 

Ø Have a positive approach to the health, sport and leisure sector as we help support our communities and schools becoming more physically active.

 

Ø Be able to work well independently and have good time management skills.
