Enrichment

At Longdendale High School we believe strongly that learning extends well beyond the classroom and that schools should offer all students an extensive range of enrichment activities which will support them to be successful in life. We aim to support our students in becoming respectful, resilient and aspirational individuals, who take advantage of the opportunities and experiences offered to them. Alongside a challenging and thought-provoking curriculum, we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular and intervention activities. These activities provide opportunities for students to learn new skills, make new friendships and develop their confidence, teamwork and communication skills.

Enrichment Week

During the final week of the academic year, Longdendale High School is proud to offer all students the opportunity to participate in a week of extra-curricular activities.

Our annual Enrichment Week provides students with three exciting days of experiences designed to build confidence, broaden horizons, celebrate achievement and strengthen our school community.

The week brings together three key events:

Sports Day: A celebration of participation, teamwork and healthy competition. Students have the opportunity to represent their forms, challenge themselves and demonstrate our school values of Aspiration, Resilience and Respect through a range of sporting activities.

Be-Long Day: A whole-school celebration of culture, diversity and belonging. Through a range of curriculum-based activities and experiences, students explore different cultures, traditions and perspectives, developing their cultural awareness and understanding of the diverse world in which they live.

Rewards Day: A chance to recognise and celebrate students who have demonstrated positive attitudes, commitment and contribution to school life throughout the year. Students take part in a choice of rewarding experiences, including our annual rewards trip, providing an opportunity to celebrate their achievements together.

Enrichment Week is an important part of our wider Personal Development programme. It gives students opportunities to develop new skills, create lasting memories and experience the sense of belonging that comes from being an active member of the Longdendale community.
