Discover Longdendale High School at our Open Evening

Families considering their secondary school options are warmly invited to attend Longdendale High School’s Open Evening on Thursday 24 September 2026, from 4.00pm to 7.30pm.

The evening is an opportunity to explore our school, meet our students and staff and discover what makes Longdendale such an inclusive and ambitious community. Visitors will be able to tour our facilities, learn more about our curriculum and pastoral support and explore the many opportunities available beyond the classroom.

Headteacher talks will take place at 5.00pm and 6.30pm, providing an introduction to the school, our values and our vision for every student.

At Longdendale, our values of respect, resilience and aspiration shape everything we do. We work closely with families to ensure every student is supported and challenged to fulfil their potential, whatever their future ambitions.

We are proud to be recognised as a National Flagship School for Inclusion and to hold the Leading Parent Partnership Award. Our Enrichment Electives programme also gives students opportunities to develop new interests and skills through activities ranging from zoology and forest school to trampolining and video editing.

Free refreshments will be available during the evening and visitors will also have the chance to win prizes.

Families living in both Tameside and Derbyshire can apply for a place at Longdendale High School. Applications open on 1 September and close on 31 October 2026.
