Longdendale High School Celebrates GCSE Results with Gains in Key Subjects

Longdendale High School is celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, marking a continued upward trend in subjects and reflecting the unwavering dedication of its students, staff, parents and wider school community.

Following on from last year’s results, this year students have demonstrated notable improvements across a wider range of subjects including, Geography, Spanish and Music. These results reflect the school’s strategic focus on supporting every student to reach their full potential.

There has also been an increase in the school’s EBacc outcomes, underlining Longdendale’s commitment to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. As part of Stamford Park Trust, the school continues to empower students with the skills and knowledge needed for future success.

Laramie achieved an impressive 2 Grade 9s, 6 Grade 8 and 2 Grade 7s, and 1 Grade 6 and is going on to Xaverian College to do Ancient History, Physics, Maths and Further Maths.

Reflecting on his journey, Laramie said:

“I’m really proud of my Longdendale legacy and want to thank all the staff who have helped me to achieve my potential.”

Emmie also achieved an impressive 4 Grade 9s and 6 Grade 8s.

Reflecting on her journey, Emmie said:

“I’m really proud of what I have achieved at Longdendale and I’m very grateful for all the support I have received. I’m looking forward to going on to do History, Business and Psychology at Ashton Sixth Form College.”

In addition, Longdendale continues to perform consistently well in a range of creative and vocational subjects, such as Art, Business Studies, Sport and Religious Studies, reinforcing the school’s belief in nurturing students’ diverse talents and interests.
