Wednesday 27th June 2018 was a day to remember for our Year 11 students and the conclusion to a magnificent five years at high school. The day started with an emotional Leavers Assembly bidding a final farewell to the class of 2018. The assembly celebrated their journey with us, along with their successes and achievements. Students laughed, and shed a few happy tears, as they remembered the numerous trips, enrichment activities and day-to-day experiences here at Longdendale.
The perfect end to the day was the Class of 2018 School Prom. Staff and parents were able to bask in the sunshine at the White Hart in Lydgate celebrating the arrival of the students who arrived with lots of glitz and glamour. The students enjoyed an evening where they joined together in celebrating their hard-work over the last five years. As well as speeches, awards and good food, the students were entertained by unusual quests to win complimentary soft drinks and dancing the night away until midnight. The amazing atmosphere and the way the year group celebrated together was a fitting end to their Longdendale High School careers and their journey into being young adults.
It has been an honour and a privilege for the school to have been a part of the lives of these wonderful students. We look forward to seeing the students of the Class of 2018 on result’s day in August, and we wish them every success in their futures beyond Longdendale
