For the third consecutive year we have been awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark formal status as a Centre of Excellence. The IQM Assessor carried out a full, annual review of the inclusive provision in February and was delighted with all aspects of the work completed since the previous review visit. The formal report comments that “Longdendale High School continues to build upon its proven record of excellence and their aspiration in this is clearly seen in its mission statement “We Endeavour to Achieve and Aspire to be successful” and through their well established and clearly defined core values of ASPIRE – Achievement, Success, Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, Endeavour - that promote a culture of high expectation and quality provision to transform life chances and opportunities for the all students who attend the school.”
During the review, the Assessor had the opportunity to meet and talk to lots of our students and staff and he was particularly impressed by the high levels of articulacy of our students. The report also highlights Longdendale’s “highly inclusive approach to education with the ASPIRE centre and their highly successful Intervention Programmes at the heart of the school” and that our work in inclusion “has a very real and positive impact on students’ ability to access appropriate learning or timely intervention, coupled with an unwavering and uncompromising ambition for all they serve”.  
We are delighted with this recognition and are looking forward to continuing to develop our excellent practice in inclusion so that we can achieve Flagship status in 2019.
