The AspirePlus Educational Trust Futures Roadshow

On Friday 5th October all Year 11 learners across the trust had the opportunity to visit the Futures Roadshow.  The learners from Rayner Stephens High School were invited to this annual and unique event that Longdendale High School has organised for a number of years where colleges, and employers from Greater Manchester hold exhibitions and discuss with learners their future options and opportunities.  This year this included representation form all Tameside providers with some from colleges from Oldham, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester such as Salford, Stockport and Manchester City Football Club.  Employers included, the BBC, Greater Manchester Police, Royal Navy, Northern Railway and Brother.

Andrea Jones Headteacher of Longdendale High School said ‘This is a very special event and it is fantastic that we have been able to extend it to include the learners at Rayner Stephens High School.  Both schools are benefitting from the closer collaboration and we look forward to continuing to work together.’  Learners thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity as they continue to focus in their PSHE lessons on their next steps to further education.  A full list of the college open evenings and contacts can be found on the school website.
